Epic STAFF & STUDENTS Regional Food Bank Community Service Opportunity - OKC

Calling ALL Epic STAFF & STUDENTS... 

First-ever, STAFF & STUDENT volunteer day. Join us as Epic Charter Schools heads to the Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City for a day of giving back to our community. Volunteers like you are essential to The Regional Food Bank's vision of an Oklahoma where no one goes hungry. Through this on-site volunteer experience, volunteers like you sort, pack, and prepare food for a variety of Regional Food Bank Programs. If you are a student looking for service hours/credit, this opportunity will help fulfill your hours.

We will be sorting and packing food to benefit a variety of Food Bank programs, such as Food for Kids, Food for Seniors, and/or Food for Communities. To find out more information about this location, please click the link at the bottom of this page.

Students: Epic student email accounts cannot receive emails from Humanitix. Therefore, you will need to provide an alternative email address where you can receive the registration confirmation and all updates that are sent about this event. 

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the entrance. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

ITINERARY:

• 1:15 pm Volunteer Check In
• 1:30-4:00 pm Volunteer
• 4:00 pm Conclusion

This Community Service Opportunity is for Epic Charter School Students grades 6th and up, as well as their parents or guardians & ALL EPIC STAFF.

CLOTHING & SUPPLIES RECOMMENDED:

• All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes for safety precautions. Individuals wearing flip-flops, sandals, or any shoes where toes are exposed will be unable to volunteer.
• Athletic or comfortable clothing that aligns with the weather forecast and a water bottle are recommended.

POLICIES: You will register using Humanitix which will hold your spot for the community service as a reservation. Parents, please register yourself and each of your Epic students who will be participating. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our community service opportunities do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic enrolled 6th through 12th-grade students so that the spots are filled by our students.

MEDIA POLICY: This is a public event and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken please let our Epic Family Engagement staff know during check-in.

CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Humanitix confirmation email. This will open up spots for other students/volunteers.

1. Go to Humanitix Confirmation Email
2. Click on "Manage Order"
3. Click "Refund/Cancel"
4. Select ALL or manually select the tickets you need to cancel
5. Click the "Review" button
6. Click the "Confirm" button

Inclement Weather Plan: If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Humanitix to let you know if the community service has been canceled.

STAFF: If you are a staff member with Epic, please be sure to request and log the day as a volunteer day in Bamboo.
