Rainbow Community Angels Training - La Trobe region 2025

Thank you for registering your interest in upcoming Rainbow Community Angels training. 

This is the registration for training which will occur in the La Trobe region in July or August 2025.

By registering your interest here, we will alert you to details of this training, which will be determined by the responses of other folks who register. Please note that the exact location of training will only be released to registered attendees of that event in the days leading up to the event.

During our three hour training you will:

• hear more about the Rainbow Community Angels, why we started, and how we support LGBTIQA+ inclusion in communities where the far right is trying to push us out.
• explore what non-violent direct action is and discuss what this looks like at our Angels actions and events.
• learn physical tactics for holding the line when shielding and protecting LGBTIQA+ events including performers, workers and attendees - mobility needs and accessibility is always included.
• meet new friends plus receive a free Angels T-shirt!

Once trained you might decide you would like to take on a range of roles within the Angels - whether that's wing building or maintenance, marshalling and co-ordinating at events, fundraising, risk management or (once you've attended a few events) contributing to training. You will be added to our Angel Chat Signal Group and notified of call outs for support at LGBTIQA+ events that need us. There are roles for everyone - if you have something in mind, we welcome your ideas and energy.

This event is for LGBTQIA+ community members and allies over 18. Please know there will be discussions of difficult topics, but we will have check ins and breaks.
