Waverley Council and Family Planning Australia are hosting 3 free relationships and dating workshops.
These workshops are for adults with intellectual disability.
Would you like to:
· Learn new skills
· Build confidence
· Meet new people
· Get ready for speed dating
Then these workshops are for you!
Workshop 1: Friday 6 November 2026 (3.30pm - 5pm)
Relationships & Attraction
What does it mean to like someone?
We will talk about:
· Friendship and relationships
· What attraction means
· Getting to know someone
Workshop 2: Friday 13 November 2026 (3.30pm - 5pm)
Healthy Relationships & Staying Safe
How can we have happy and safe relationships?
We will learn about:
· Making your own choices
· Personal boundaries
· Staying safe when dating
Workshop 3: Friday November 20 2026 (3.30 – 5pm)
Get Ready for Speed Dating!
Let’s practice meeting someone new!
We will:
· Practice having a conversation
· Build confidence
· Learn what to expect at speed dating
Come and join us!
You can ask questions.
You can take your time.
You can practice.
Just be yourself!
The friendly team from Family Planning Australia will be there to help.
Inclusive Speed Dating: Mix, Mingle and Match
There will be a Speed Dating event on Saturday 21 November 6pm – 9pm
You can practise all the skills you learned.

- Who can come?
These workshops are for:
Adults with intellectual disability aged 18 years and over
People who would like to learn about:
o Relationships
o Dating
o Meeting new people
You can come on your own.
Or you can come with a support person.
- Photos and videos
Photos and videos will be taken at the event.
We may use these photos and videos to promote our events.
They may be used on:
· Social media
· Websites
· Other advertising
If you have any concerns about photos or videos, please talk to one of our team members at the event.
We will do our best to respect your wishes.
Please remember that we cannot always guarantee that you will not appear in the background of a photo or video.
- Accessibility
The venue is wheelchair accessible.
The workshops and speed dating event will be on the ground floor.
There will also be a sensory and chill-out area available during the event.
This is a quiet space where you can take a break if you need one.
If you have any other accessibility needs or questions, please contact us before the event.
- Tickets
I registered for a ticket but can’t come anymore.
If you find out that you cannot come, please let us know as soon as possible.
This means we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.
