A sensory-friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends and support workers.

Come along to the Museum after hours. Visitors with sensory or accessibility needs such as autism can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum. This is a chance to see all of our permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you've never noticed before!

While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, we acknowledge that sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for our neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. We will be altering some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum to make it a more sensory friendly experience.

Attendees can enjoy the Museum galleries and our sensory backpacks will also be available to borrow free of charge.

In March 2018, the Museum was declared an Autism Friendly Venue by Autism SA.

This is a ticketed event for people with sensory needs and their accompanying family, friends or support workers. Please purchase a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.

Please contribute what you can afford to give for each ticket and enjoy our Relaxed, Sensory-Friendly Evening. Our access programming is funded solely through donations and we're grateful for every contribution no matter how big or small. Your contribution will help us to continue to present these programs into the future.

Entry to our temporary exhibition Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of Year is included with your ticket to this event.

The Museum Shop and Cafe will not be open for this event.
