Sensory friendly evening at the South Australian Museum
Event description
A quiet, sensory friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends and support workers.
Visitors with sensory or accessibility needs can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the South Australian Museum out of hours. This is a chance to see all of the permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before.
While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the evening to make it a more sensory friendly experience.
This is a ticketed event for people with sensory needs and their accompanying family, friends or support workers. Please purchase a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.
This is a pay-what-you-can event:
Please contribute what you can afford to give for each ticket and enjoy this event. The Museum's access programming is funded solely through donations, and we are grateful for every contribution no matter how big or small. Your contribution will help us to continue to present these programs into the future.
Entry to the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year is included with admission.
The Museum Shop and Museum Cafe are not open during this event.
