ABOUT JACQUI:

I’ve lived at Piha for 30 years and love swimming in the sea, the rivers and walking the nature trails every chance I get. I also love singing and belong to my local choir. For the past 25+ years I have taught youth and adults in a variety of literacy, communication and life skills programmes. I assisted in a recreation-based life skills programme for young people who found school life challenging (Activ8 Auckland) from 1999 - 2018.

I enjoy sharing my life-long love of/passion for discovering new ideas and learning new skills in my teaching roles. Most recently, I have designed and facilitated a well-being programme which provides the opportunity for participants to explore the many things we can do to navigate our way towards a sense of feeling safe and connected, and the benefits of experiencing life from this place.

While attending a Sound Healing training I discovered the magic of the therapeutic drone harp. A very kind and generous friend gifted me a drone harp and I now use my voice to accompany the harp to promote an experience of nurturing, relaxation and healing in one-to-one and group settings.

I have always sought to understand our diverse ways of being and knowing in the world and how we can utilise our understanding of ourselves and others as a springboard to be more creative, innovative and collaborative in the transformation of our world.

By combining the gifts of voice and harp, and a lifetime of facilitating personal transformation through learning, connection and furthering our understanding of ourselves and our world, my wish is to provide an opportunity for us to remember our goodness, see the goodness in others and contribute to the transformation of our world.

ABOUT JAZ:

I was raised on classic rock, danced all through my childhood, grew up playing in rock and indie bands. Sound has been the biggest constant in my life. I was raised by an energy healer, and her beautiful circle of spiritual friends.

I pursued a career in music management and administration, but I soon reached a point of toxic productivity and burn-out. After leaving my job, I had a lightbulb moment, and was a qualified sound healer within the month.

Sound healing has permanently altered my life for the better.  Having experienced the healing power of sound and vibrations first hand, I am so passionate about sharing this gift with as many people as possible. Music is the language that everybody speaks. It has the power to alter our state of being, and the power to affect true change.
