Removing Barriers to Social Procurement

A Social Procurement Week 2026 Panel Discussion

Join leaders from across Queensland's social procurement ecosystem for a practical discussion on one of the most important questions facing our sector:

How do we make social procurement opportunities more accessible for social benefit suppliers?

Social enterprises and other purpose-led businesses deliver significant social and economic value to our communities. Yet many continue to face challenges navigating procurement processes, managing tendering costs, accessing working capital, and demonstrating capability in highly competitive markets.

At the same time, buyers and contract managers are increasingly seeking ways to engage a more diverse supplier base and deliver meaningful social outcomes through procurement.

So how can we work together to reduce barriers and create more accessible pathways to participation?

Drawing on insights from the SPN Qld community and discussions from our March networking event, the panel will share practical, real-world strategies that address the challenges and opportunities practitioners are experiencing right now.
