Renaissance Singers under the baton of Christine Archer-Lockwood has a reputation for presenting varied and challenging programs, often a cappella, comprising both modern works as well as works of the Renaissance period and earlier.
We are presenting three concerts in 2026. The first in May is a joint concert with Festival Singers of Wellington, the second on September 12th will feature music from the shows and we will conclude the year with our popular Carols for Christmas in early December - watch this space for more information as we post details each event below.
2025 was our 50th Anniversary Year which we celebrated with three highly successful Golden concerts - Renaissance Gold, Orchestral Gold and Golden Carols for Choirs.
In recent years concerts have included: Far out! Godwits and Guitars with acclaimed classical guitarist Matthew Marshall, Sing & Swing with the Chris Dann piano trio, and Mallets & Melody featuring four orchestral percussionists and their myriad instruments; Light and enlightenment - songs to brighten your day a programme that traversed the gamut from spirituals to nursery rhymes, witty lyrics to reimagined madrigals, mesmeric invocation of Aurora to haunting word painting, pulsing rhythms to Irish and Scottish blessings, and lyrics drawn from the 8th Century through the Dawn of Enlightenment to the 21st Century; Two to three concerts are presented each year concluding with the hugely popular annual Carols for Christmas.
