    Event description

Join a group of climate justice champions for the first Renewables Down Under - Family Ride.

    Why

We are proud that South Australia is a renewable energy superpower, and we love the freedom cycling gives us and our families.

Join a group of people passionate about a bright future powered by renewable energy and safe cycling.

We need climate action to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. Our children can't wait.

We want to highlight our interest in progressing the City East/West bikeway and other dedicated cycling infrastructure as a key investment to create a safe bike riding culture for families.

    Timing

On Saturday, 6 May 2023, from 12pm, we will gather at The Joinery.

    • 12.00pm to 1.00pm - drop in and meet other families and people who ride bikes
    • Approx. 1.05 pm - we'll be guided by bike marshals into formation
    • 1.15 pm Together we'll ride along Tennant Close, left into Morphett St, left into Grote, continue along Grote - Wakefield, left into Frome & maximise the number of cyclists on the dedicated bike path - left into Flinders - Franklin & return to The Joinery.
    • 1.45 pm return to The Joinery or head home.

    What to Bring

    • Water bottle
    • Snacks/lunch
    • Sunscreen
    • Solar or wind themed dress ups
    • Bike safety is essential - make sure you have your helmet and follow our marshals' instructions.

Community partners, including Extinction Rebellion South Australia and Kidical Mass Adelaide, support the event.

We appreciate you registering for the event so we can plan appropriately as we work with SAPOL to ensure we are all safe and lawful on our ride.
