Renters' Rights Rundown - getting the best outcomes for people experiencing family violence
Online Event
Event description
Do you support people whose rental situation has been affected by family violence? VCOSS is pleased to announce a special online Renters’ Rights Rundown event on Wednesday 12 June, featuring experts from Justice Connect and Safe and Equal (with further speakers to be announced).
This free information forum is aimed at frontline workers who want to find out more about:
- What legal protections are available to renters under the Residential Tenancies Act
- How workers can help renters to exercise their rights and achieve the best outcome
- What legal and non-legal supports are available to assist.
After formal presentations there will be an opportunity for audience questions and Justice Connect will also demonstrate their new online resource, Home of Your Own.
With thanks to the Victorian Department of Government Services. This event is part of VCOSS’ rental fairness project, supported through the Victorian Property Fund.
VCOSS is the peak representative body for Victoria’s social and community sector, and the state’s leading social advocacy organisation. We work towards creating a Victoria that is fair, just and inclusive. A society where nobody is trapped by poverty, and everybody is supported to live a life of wellbeing.
