Repair Café + Film Screening: Can Everything Be Mended?

Got something that's broken? Want to try fixing it yourself but not sure how?

Repair Cafés are free community events where you can bring your item and our volunteer fixers will help to guide you through your repair.

Repair Café Edinburgh will be popping up at ETL's Leith Community Workshop, where volunteers will be on hand to help you repair your broken electrical, electronic and mechanical devices such as toys, small / low-voltage electricals, laptops… we'll also have help on hand if you want to try fabrics and clothing repairs.

*UPDATE: No ticket required for fabric repairs - just drop in any time!*

So if you've got something that you want to fix, book a ticket and fill out the checkout questions so we can confirm that we can help!

Film screening: Can Everything Be Mended? (Chuck Blue Lowry, 2025, 30min)

We are delighted that this Repair Café will also feature screenings of Can Everything Be Mended? - a poetic short film exploring whether everything can (or should) be mended, and how repair is an act of resistance. The film celebrates the repair of our stuff, ourselves and our communities - visiting inspiring menders from across the UK and honouring the beauty, resilience, curiosity and tenacity of those who have so much to offer the world.

The film showtimes will be at: 1:15pm, 2pm, 2:45pm, and 3:30pm - if you are only coming for the film screening, please select the appropriate ticket at checkout.
