REQ Mental Health First Aid Training - 2 Days

Each year 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental health challenge.
Being equipped with mental health first aid skills will enable you to support a friend, family member or co-worker, whether they are developing a mental health challenge or are in a mental health crisis.
You can make a real difference in a person’s life - or even save their life.
Topics covered include:
How to recognise developing mental health concerns, such as:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression
- Alcohol and drug concerns
- Psychosis
How to assist during a mental health crisis, such as:
- Panic attack
- Traumatic event
- Self harm, suicidal thoughts & behaviour
- Aggressive behaviour
- Severe effects from alcohol and drug use
The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult how
to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health
problem or crisis. This event is facilitated by HelpingMinds and runs across 2 Saturdays in August (7th and 14th).
