Research X Startups
Event description
Entrepreneurial skills are crucial, in-demand and have never been easier to practise while at UTS.
In this presentation, tailored for UTS HDRs, hear a fascinating conversation about the intersections of research, commercialisation and entrepreneurship, ask your own questions, and find out how you can explore your own entrepreneurial capabilities.
Following the presentation will be a chance to meet other HDR's in the UTS community over pizza and drinks as part of our monthly HDR meet ups series. It will be a casual meet and greet format, Q and A, with snacks and drinks provided.
Our guest: Payar Radfar, co-foundeer of Smart MCs.
Payar is the co-founder of Smart MCs and a final year PhD candidate at the school of biomedical engineering at UTS. From career experiences in multiple fields, Payar’s PhD efforts have recently led to multiple awards including UTS Research Translation Competition and Fresh Scientist Award (NSW). Payar has co-founded Smart MCs to reshape the wasteful bioprocessing workflows, focused particularly on cultivated meat and cellular therapeutic companies.
Hosted by Dr Sarah Kinkel-Miller (Manager, UTS Graduate Research School) and David Lt (Program Manager, Inspiration, UTS Startups).
