Guest speakers
The current work of Bronwyn Davies, her art and poetry reflect her need to express her connection to place and her responses to being a female creative thinker in a world increasingly ruled by economic rationalism. Bronwyn connects audiences with issues and things that matter.
Donna Davis is a multi-disciplinary artist who plays between science fact and science fiction, often embedded within ecological research projects to inspire her practice. Cross-disciplinary collaborations are key to her practice. Her work is grounded in science however resolved in speculative ways to contemplate the existential threat of climate change.
The work of Merinda Davies is inspired by the environment, human and more-than-human
social and ecological structures and the possibilities available to us in future imaginings. Her practice aims to find clarity and connection in the external world through deep listening, observation, and research into the emotional and physical states in our internal worlds.
Consilience Queensland is a new organisation that seeks to explore the intersection between art, science, nature and social change. Our key activities for 2025 include an exploration and Design for a More Than Human World, development of an Art, Science and Nature residency program, Yarning sessions regarding caring for country and Queensland Climate Change Theatre Action. Projects under consideration include the written word (poetry & essays), poster design and more.
