    Event description

If you live or work rurally in Wairarapa or provide social services in rural communities - then this breakfast event is for you!

Wairarapa Community Networks invites you to join us for a 1-hour inspirational FREE event with Dr Lucy Hone, Director of the NZ Institute of Wellbeing & Resilience.

A hearty breakfast will be included for each attendee to enjoy while Dr Lucy Hone offers insights and strategies for steering through everyday adversities and life-changing events from her work following the Christchurch earthquakes and her own tragic loss.

Her focus on helping people and organisations create research-informed but practical resilience strategies is a call to action in light of so many feeling resilience fatigue. “Resilience is a much over-used word, but still little understood I fear” she says. “I’m on a mission to change that by equipping people with ways of thinking and acting they can rely upon to get them through tough times. Yes, I’m an academic researcher, but I know personally what it’s like to have your world turned upside down and have seen first-hand what works in those moments."

Known for her work globally, Lucy’s research is published internationally, she is a frequent guest on leading podcasts and her book, Resilient Grieving, was recently recommended by Oprah Winfrey. Her TED talk, Three Secrets of Resilient People, went viral during the Covid pandemic, becoming one of the most-watched of 2020, with over 9 million views and translated into 23 languages.

Join us to gain a greater understanding of resilience and identify the strategies that work for you.
