Event description

RESILIENCY AND WELLBEING TRAINING

2 Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm

Each of us has a window of resiliency. From this window of resiliency we face life’s challenges, adapt and bounce back. Everybody has a different sized window. Some of us have a small window and are easily overwhelmed whilst others have a large window and it takes a lot to knock them off their stride. No matter what size your window of resiliency is, everybody can grow and become more resilient than they are now.

Some benefits or growing your resiliency are:

  • Improving physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Improving cognitive functioning.
  • Reducing the effects of stress.
  • Accept and manage change more skillfully.
  • Strengthens emotional stability
  • Seeing nothing is insurmountable.
  • Maintaining a hopeful outlook.
  • Learning from your past

Our trainings are open to anyone from the general public. The group size will be a maximum of ten people per class. The training will be a mix of education and experiential practices, in order for you to come away with both the knowledge and practical skills.

THE WINDOW OF RESILIENCY

SESSION ONE 10th November - 2 Hours

Focuses on understanding how our brains and nervous system operate within and outside the window of resiliency. Learn about what happens in the brain when you are resilient and the changes that occur when you are under stress. Identify your own unique indicators of resiliency and stress in order to gain greater control over your behaviour and decision making process. Learn tools that will help you recognise when you leave your window of resiliency and how to bounce back.

TRIGGERS AND GETTING BACK CONTROL

SESSION TWO 17th November- 2 Hours

This training builds on the previous training. Learn the unconscious triggers that activate the survival/stress part of the brain. Recognise your unique triggers and start to rewire your brain in order to move from reacting to responding. Grow your window of resiliency so that you get triggered less.

Covid-19 policy In the event of a lockdown where we are unable to meet up in person the course will be held online through Zoom.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for arranging today’s Resilience & Wellbeing Workshops. Blair was a fantastic speaker and such an engaging presenter, which made for a most interesting and informative session. I’ve spend a lot of time over the years working on trying to improve my resilience and wellbeing, doing a lot of reading and self-curated studying, but I learned so many new insights today. The workshop was a brilliant combination of background information and useful techniques which suited the whole audience, from people who were new to the idea of resilience through to those of us who are already interested in the topic..

I have attended lots of workshops in my time around stress, wellbeing etc. but none have been as good as this! It was easy to understand and totally made sense, I have a way better understanding now of how I respond to stress than I did before.
