Event description
Rest and Release is a chance to reconnect to yourself and others through journalling, meditation and conscious connected breathwork.
This style of breathwork is an activating breath - it is a continuous, rhythmic pattern of deep inhalation and relaxed exhalation. This type of breath aims to facilitate emotional release and inner exploration. From a scientific perspective, this type of breath can influence the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the nervous system. We will aim to activate our nervous system and build momentum towards a peak before returning to a down-regulated, calming pattern of breath. By building intensity and activation with our breath, we release tension or stored emotions from our body and allow our nervous system to return to balance.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
This style of breathwork is NOT suitable for those with the following conditions. If you have one of the following contraindications and would still like to participate, please contact us prior to booking:
Pregnancy
ANY history of seizures
Epilepsy
PTSD
Severe mental health conditions such as bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis, PTSD
Severe or recent panic attacks (within the last 3 months)
Currently taking brain altering medications such as anti-depressant, anti-psychotic or anti-anxiety medication
Recent surgeries, serious physical injuries or fractures
History or diagnosis of aneurysms
Cardiovascular or Cardiac (heart) conditions or diseases (for example: high blood pressure, heart attack or heart disease)
Asthma
Glaucoma or Retinal issues
Recent hospitalisation for mental health or psychiatric conditions (within the last 3 years)
