Event description
Join us for our first event of 2025, REST
We're back with a brand-new program - at a brand-new venue! Our 2025 series will take place at ILUMINA, a new, cutting edge event space at 1 Elizabeth Street in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
REST
A period of inactivity to regain strength or health. Resting your faith or confidence in something. Distinguishing oneself from the rest. A pause, a support, a motionless state. However you define it, rest is an essential part of life.
As always, you'll hear from three leading creatives from different industries, each sharing their
unique interpretation of this theme.
SPEAKERS
Helenna Barone-Peters - Radio Host, Writer, Producer
Helenna is a radio host, writer and independent theatre artist living and working on Gadigal land. Alongside her work in community law, Helenna co-hosts late night radio show Patina on fbi radio. Influenced by the oxidation of metals, and drawing on principles of contemporary jewellery and embodied listening, Patina bridges the gap between the natural and industrial and invites listeners and contributors to reflect on the passing of time and the inevitable interplay of decay and regeneration.
Helenna is currently the Assistant Producer for Act 1 2025 at the Old Fitz Theatre, and her past producing credits span across various fields including theatre, public activation and live music. Despite working across multiple disciplines, Helenna strives to centre community at the core of her artistic practice.
Katarzyna Jurkiewicz - Principal, Grimshaw Sydney
Katarzyna is an architect and urban designer shaping the future of rail infrastructure worldwide. As Principal at Grimshaw’s Sydney studio, she has played a pivotal role in major transport projects—from designing platform cladding for London’s Crossrail Elizabeth Line to contributing to Sydney’s CBD and South East Light Rail, Martin Place Metro, and Sydney Metro West. She champions net-zero carbon outcomes and circular economy principles in all her work.
