REST: Dynasty8 Chamber choir Brunswick Heads Rescheduled to Sunday 19th December 2021
Rest - In the Garden - is an hour long sonic meditation featuring beautiful ancient and modern classical choral music accompanied by 8 shimmering gongs played by David Bennett, from Planet Earth Gongs.
We invite people to bring mats, pillows and a rug or two, find a spot on the floor and allow themselves to surrender to this magical experience. We also provide chairs for those less inclined to recline.
Dynasty8 has performed at Mullum Music Festival and Byron Writer’s Festival, as well as concerts in interesting acoustic spaces such as the Nerang Railway Tunnel on the Gold Coast, and various gorgeous and resonant halls in the Byron region. Dynasty8 Chamber Choir sings deeply sacred meditative Western classical music, and we are always exploring new venues and environments where we can sing.
D8 is conducted by Elizabeth Swain, OAM - a well known and much loved choral conductor who established the Newington College Music Department, and then went on to conduct the Choir at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney. Her love, connection with and sensitivity to the deeper and universal sacred significance of the Western choral tradition informs the approach that the choir takes to performance.
We offer REST - In the Garden - as an antidote to these complex and difficult times, and some quiet respite from the chatter and noise of modern life.
Friday 17th December - Kingscliff Community Hall - 7pm to 8pm
Sunday 19th December - Brunswick Heads Memorial Hall - 7pm to 8pm
