Event description

Restorative Circles in Schools by Bob Costello, Joshua Wachtel, & Ted Wachtel introduces a transformative approach to conflict resolution and community building within educational settings. The book delves into the philosophy and practices of restorative circles, a process designed to create a safe and inclusive space for dialogue.

The authors emphasize the power of circles as a means to address conflicts, build relationships, and foster a sense of belonging among students and educators. Drawing on their experiences in restorative justice, the book provides practical guidance on implementing restorative circles in schools, offering a framework that encourages open communication, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving.

Readers can expect to gain insights into how restorative circles can positively impact school culture, promote understanding, and contribute to a more supportive and harmonious learning environment. "Restorative Circles in Schools" serves as a valuable resource for educators, administrators, and anyone interested in creating restorative and empowering spaces within educational communities.

During each book club session, we will discuss the main points, quotes, and details we gleaned from the reading, build community, and expand our comprehension of the general topic. We will also connect to outside events and how they relate to the topic.
