Restorative Yoga and Massage | March 9 | Hobart
Event description
We welcome you to embrace a gentle afternoon of Restorative Yoga & Massage with Lauren Burke and Jemma Burke, inviting you to rest, restore and reconnect as during the new moon and transition into the Autumn season.
Lauren will guide you through a combination of floor-based restorative yoga postures to help release areas of muscular effort and promote relaxation in the body and mind.
Jemma will offer you the option of grounding and compassionate touch throughout the practice to assist you in dropping deeper into the power of rest.
We will close with herbal chai and yummy treats and the opportunity to journal or reflect on your inner experience.
What to expect:
In a restorative yoga practice, the aid of props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and mats are provided to support you and your unique body. No prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary.
Restorative yoga is based on harmonising the prana (energy) in the body and soothing the nervous system into a state of deep relaxation and stillness. Comfort is paramount and props support the body and mind to deeply unwind.
We call on this ancient wisdom as a chance to pause and integrate amidst the transition of the new year and to bring our mind and bodies back into equilibrium during the warmer summer months.
We look forward to resting with you!
“Treating each other and ourselves with care isn’t a luxury, but an absolute necessity if we’re going to thrive. Resting isn’t an afterthought, but a basic part of being human.” - Trisha Hersey, The Nap Ministry
