Event description

Every third Thursday of the month I am hosting a 90 minute Restorative Yoga Class. This is a wonderful way to reset your Nervous System and slow down, it is an opportunity to really tune into and listen to the whispers of your body.

So much of our time can be spent in a constant state of alertness, simmering anxiety and a reduced ability to switch off. Whilst in this heightened state, our immune system can become suppressed: have you ever found that on the first day of a much-anticipated holiday you become sick? When you rest and relax, your immune system switches on and starts to do its job of a Spring clean. Restorative Yoga can help give your body the opportunity for a mini–Spring clean.

Are you wondering what Restorative Yoga is? The following quote from Physical Therapist Dr Judith Hanson Lasater is a lovely description:

"Restorative Yoga is a passive form of asana sequencing that includes floor based postures and props to support the body. It is considered an ideal balance to a hectic and stressful modern lifestyle."

Asanas/poses are held for a longer time period to give you the opportunity to sink into the pose and usually range from 4 minutes to 15 minutes.

Our next Restorative class is on Thursday 19th September at 6:15 pm for 90 minutes. Classes are limited to 4 participants so I can assist with individual adjustments with props and positioning to ensure there are no biomechanical stresses resulting in the ability to truly feel and settle into the Asana.

The investment in your Restorative practice is $25 + the Humanitix Booking fee. If you would like to come and join us, then please book in.
