Restorative Yoga with Live Harp - Finding Refuge
Event description
Saturday 23rd August, 5:30pm-7:00pm
SOBA Studio, Upper 359 Montague Road, West End (above Whole Life Pharmacy)
All bodies/identities are welcome.
It has been a hard season, collectively. More pronounced and pointy for some. A quiet carrying of grief and witnessing of world events for others.
There is an old Irish proverb: "It is in the shelter of each other that the people live"
This rings true to the notion of 'Interbeing’. Challenging the 'separate self'. Acknowledging that we are all connected as part of a larger whole.
In these times of collective chaos, we invite the intention of seeking refuge in the here and now.
Starting with compassionate curiosity to the present.
We explore finding shelter within the community of the body.
The medicine of the breath.
The quiet courage to unfurl and open to 'here'.
Harp soundscapes will support us to soften and settle into each moment.
This is a moment of collective, skillful care and rest.
Together, we alleviate the marks that stress has left on the mind, body, breath and heart.
Finding shelter within and out. Extending to the larger whole.
To greet sorrow today does not mean that sorrow will be there tomorrow. Happiness comes too, and grief, and tiredness, disappointment, surprise and energy. Chaos and fulfilment will be named as well as delight and despair. This is the truth of being here, wherever here is today. It may not be permanent but it is here. I will probably leave here, and I will probably return. To deny here is to harrow the heart. Hello to here"
