Restorative Yoga with Live Harp - Finding Refuge
Event description
Saturday 23rd August, 5:30pm-7:00pm
SOBA Studio, Upper 359 Montague Road, West End (above Whole Life Pharmacy) Meanjiin/Brisbane
All bodies are welcome
There is an old Irish proverb:
"It is in the shelter of each other that the people live"
This rings true to the notion of 'Interbeing’. Acknowledging that we are all connected as part of a larger whole.
In these times of collective chaos, we invite the intention of seeking refuge in the here and now.
Starting with compassionate curiosity to the present.
We explore the possibility of finding shelter within the body.
The medicine of the breath.
The quiet courage to unfurl and open to 'here'.
Harp soundscapes will support us to soften and settle into each moment.
This is a moment of shared, skillful care.
So that we may feel more resourced to move through our uncertain world with presence.
Alleviating the marks that stress imprints on the mind, body, breath and heart.
Connecting to all minds, bodies, breaths and hearts.
"To greet sorrow today does not mean that sorrow will be there tomorrow. Happiness comes too, and grief, and tiredness, disappointment, surprise and energy. Chaos and fulfilment will be named as well as delight and despair. This is the truth of being here, wherever here is today. It may not be permanent but it is here. I will probably leave here, and I will probably return. To deny here is to harrow the heart. Hello to here"
