Event description

Help Restore Tuggeranong Creek and Be Part of a Wild Planting Adventure!

Join Southern ACT Catchment Group and local conservation heroes POSM (Parkcarers of Southern Murrumbidgee) in a special community planting event in Barney's Gully - a beautiful spot that could really do with a few plants to stop the threat of erosion.

This is your chance to help restore one of Canberra’s less-seen natural areas alongside the people that know it the best - POSM, all while contributing to the health of our broader river system.

We’ll be planting native vegetation to stabilise the creek banks, combat erosion, and bring life back to this important waterway. The planting site is in a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path spot - perfect for those up for a bit of a walk and a bit of adventure!

When: Saturday 7th of June | 9:00 - 12:00

Where: Meet at Woodcock Drive entrance, gate at Bicentennial trail, look out for the Southern ACT Catchment Flag From there it will be a short walk through to the planting site.

Bring: Sturdy shoes, gloves (if you have them) and a water bottle.

Let’s get our hands dirty for a cleaner, greener Murrumbidgee.

This activity has received funding from the Australian Government's Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with assistance from the ACT Government.
