REthink energy & waste in your community group
Event description
About the session
This session is designed to encourage those active in the community to become adopters and modellers of sustainable behaviour. This session will introduce community groups and service organisations to the seven ‘REthink’ principles of a circular economy, and help them incorporate better energy and waste practices into their day-to-day operations. The workshop will foster discussion and practical examples of how groups can be more sustainable in a range of areas like purchasing, resource use, and event management.
What we’ll be doing
During the workshop, attendees will undertake activities to identify ways in which their current practices could be improved, and develop a take-home plan for some simple goals their group or organisation can implement immediately and in the longer term. Guidance will also be provided on the psychology of behaviour change and how to get wider members of the group on board with new strategies and goals.
Topics include:
- Increasing your group’s energy efficiency
- Reducing waste
- Ethical finance and partnerships
- Sustainable product choices
- Sustainable events
- How eco choices benefit your group and your client base
Who is it for?
The session is aimed at all Nillumbik community groups and their members, along with interested service organisations.
