Event description

Join us for REthink: Fibres, Transition & Innovation, the final event in the EMRC’s REthink, REdesign, REstyle series. This inspiring exploration of circular fashion and textile sustainability is supported by the Circular Textile Working Group WA and made possible by Meshpoints, an initiative supported by Lotterywest and Spacecubed which exists to build a stronger culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in WA.

Hosted at ThreadUp Australia, WA’s first mechanical textile recycling facility, this event will bring together local innovators, changemakers, and textile enthusiasts to explore the future of fibres in Perth.

What to Expect:

  • Behind-the-scenes tour of the ThreadUp facility with co-founders Josephine and Renzo (4:30 PM – 5:15 PM)
  • Insightful talks and a “show and tell” session featuring cutting-edge fibre innovations
  • Networking opportunities with sustainability leaders and like-minded attendees

Speakers and more to come!

  • ThreadUp Australia, transforming textile waste to create a sustainable closed-loop solution for the textile industry.
  • Meriel Chamberlin, textile expert and founder of Full Circle Fibres, will introduce the session and share insights on post-consumer fibre sorting and the award-winning Mud to Marle project.
  • Nanollose, creators of microbial cellulose made from organic and agricultural waste.
  • Jean Anning, a Perth-based fibre artisan. She will share her passion for sustainable textiles — from growing cotton on her verge to spinning and weaving it into beautiful, handmade cloth.

Spaces are limited—register now to secure your spot and be part of WA’s textile transition story.

Let’s REthink what’s possible for the future of fibres.
