    Event description

Don’t know what to do with the soft plastics, bits of giftwrapping & ribbon saved and used textiles?

Join us these school holidays for a morning of upcycling yarn, scraps and non-traditional materials into a woven mini wall. In this workshop participants will learn basics of weaving on a cardboard frame and how to incorporate all sorts of waste material - a great technique that will keep little hands busy and minds engaged for many more hours at home!

Be inspired by Liz Williamson's Weaving Eucalypts Project exhibition and create your own woven waste response.

No scrap at home? Then you can select items from natural and recycled materials provided to incorporate into your individual design. Just bring along your creativity and enthusiasm

Cardboard looms, a large supply of random waste such as plastic cables, wrappers, fabric, paper, natural items will be supplied and you can bring your own favorite natural and/or manufactured materials. Workshop participants will take home their own woven artworks, as well as new skills for future projects.

Suitable for all ages and experience levels. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Accompanying adults do not need to purchase a ticket.
