Rethinking James Center North Shopping Center

What does it take to transform a parking lot into a new community with 500 new apartments? Come find out and see the progress on Mercy Housing Northwest's new building at Aviva Crossing, the first 129 homes to be developed at the current James Center North shopping center. 

Transforming existing surface parking into new housing opportunities is one of the greatest opportunities we have to create enough housing to meet our region's needs. Mercy Aviva Crossing, which began construction in December and is scheduled to open in Spring 2026, is a great example of this kind of project. At the event, you'll hear from the general contractor, architect, civil engineer, and structural engineer about the design and construction considerations and complexities for this type of project. This event will be hosted by Mercy Housing NW, Walsh Construction, Mithun, AHBL, and Atlas Design Group on an active job site.
