Return to Babylon Premiere in Sydney
Event description
Return to Babylon is a film about the Assyrian diaspora. A quest to reconnect, an immersion into the past that still lives within us.
From France to Mesopotamia, this documentary follows Semiramis and her family as they navigate exile, memory, and rediscovery.
Their journey leads them to the roots of their culture - confronting the hardships of the Assyrian community’s past, exploring life in modern-day Mesopotamia, and posing the question of whether or not it is safe to return there after displacement.
Directed by Sébastien Daycard-Heid and produced by François Crusset, Return to Babylon is a story of transformation, cultural heritage, and returning to one’s roots.
