Event description

This interactive workshop will provide experienced Return to Work Coordinators with skills to establish rigorous methods for assessing the needs of injured workers. 

After this workshop, you will be able to identify workers at risk of long-term work loss and disability. 

You will also learn to devise appropriate interventions to address complex needs and control risks to health and productivity. 

Who should attend?

Return to work coordinators who have:

Completed ‘Return-to-Work Coordination – Managing Complex Cases’ or an equivalent course.

    At least 6 months recent field experience in assisting workers in one or more workplaces with returning to work after injury.

    Delivery:

    This course will be delivered face-to-face. The session will be from 9am-1pm. 

    You can also register for Return to Work Coordination- Foundations for Effective Practice and Return to Work Coordination- Managing Complex Cases on 22nd September. 

    If you register for 2 out of the 3 courses you will be eligible for free 1 on 1 coaching with the facilitator Jamie Travis (Please see further information on Jamie Travis in the description below)

    Jamie Travis has been training return-to-work coordinators in Australia since 1993 and, in the recent 20 years, he has co-authored introductory and advanced-level training courses in partnership with SIRA.

    Jamie is a registered occupational therapist and health educator with 30 years clinical and field experience spanning neurology, acute and community mental health, and occupational rehabilitation.

    From 1999 to 2002, Jamie was a senior officer with WorkCover NSW where he was engaged in the workers compensation scheme reform agenda.

    In 2002, Jamie established Nth°Degree Sciences, through which he works with organisations in various industrial settings to improve the safety and quality of workplace health services.

    Jamie’s special interests are neuroscience and pain education. He has research degrees in international relations and politics. His research interests include health system development in post-conflict societies.
