Returning to the Wild Woman (5) An Art Therapy Journey Through Women Who Run With the Wolves
Description
Returning to the Wild Woman
An Art Therapy Journey Inspired by Women Who Run With the Wolves
Some experiences change us.
Love. Loss. Grief. Endings. New beginnings.
There are times in life when we are asked to let go of what we have known and make space for something new to emerge.
Returning to the Wild Woman is an invitation to turn inward and explore the parts of ourselves that can become hidden beneath life's experiences, expectations and protective layers.
Inspired by Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Women Who Run With the Wolves, each workshop explores a different story and the wisdom it holds for us.
Each workshop is a standalone experience and an individual journey. You don't need to have attended a previous workshop. You simply come as you are, with your own story, your own experience and whatever is present for you in this moment.
Through guided visualisation, creative expression, reflection and connection, you are invited to explore what the story awakens within you and listen to what your own inner world may be trying to tell you.
This Workshop: Hunting
When the Heart Is a Lonely Hunter - Skeleton Woman
The story of Skeleton Woman is one of the most powerful stories in Women Who Run With the Wolves.
It speaks to the deeper nature of love - that love is not always about beginnings, closeness and joy.
Love also asks us to meet vulnerability.
To face loss.
To release what has ended.
And to allow ourselves to change.
Skeleton Woman invites us to explore the life/death/life cycle that exists within love and within our own lives.
There are things that come alive within us.
Things that need to be released.
And things that are waiting to be born again.
This workshop offers a space to gently explore your own relationship with these cycles.
You may be invited to reflect on:
What am I holding onto that may be ready to be released?
What have I hidden or protected within myself?
What has come to an end in my life?
What is asking to be renewed?
What might become possible if I allow myself to soften?
What does transformation mean for me?
Your Expression, Your Journey
Following the guided visualisation, you will be invited into a creative process that allows your own expression to emerge.
You will choose the creative materials that feel right for you and allow your response to the story and your own inner experience to unfold through image.
There is no prescribed way for your artwork to look.
You don't need to know what you are going to create before you begin.
You don't need to make sense of it.
Simply listen.
Notice what comes forward.
Allow your hands to respond.
Perhaps something wants to be held.
Perhaps something wants to be released.
Perhaps something new is beginning to take form.
Your artwork becomes a personal expression of your own experience of change, loss, renewal and transformation.
There is no right interpretation and no expectation to explain what emerges.
Your artwork belongs entirely to you.
It is your expression.
Your experience.
Your journey.
Connection in Community
While the creative journey is deeply personal, you will be held within a supportive circle of women.
After the creative process, there will be space for reflection and an opportunity to share what you choose.
To be witnessed.
To listen.
To connect.
To recognise the shared experiences of love, loss, vulnerability, healing and beginning again.
We each carry our own stories, but sometimes there is comfort in discovering that we are not alone in the things we have experienced.
An Invitation to Soften, Release & Renew
Skeleton Woman reminds us that love is not separate from change.
There are cycles of holding and letting go.
Of endings and beginnings.
Of falling apart and becoming something new.
This is an invitation to gently explore what your heart may be carrying.
To honour what has been.
To release what is ready to be released.
To make space for what wants to emerge.
And to trust that even in the places where something has ended, new life can return.
Returning to the Wild Woman

Come as you are.
There is nothing you need to prepare.
