Reunion on Country - with Jake Cassar

It’s with great pleasure that we invite you to Reunion’s first live event.

‘A day on country with Jake Cassar.’

It’s a privilege to have Jake guide us through the country that he holds most dear and the wildfoods & medicinal plants that have shaped him and his life in the bush.

You can come and play for the day, which includes a 5 hour workshop, with the option to camp on country overnight with more storytelling and music by the fire!

It’s BYO snacks and breakfast, but dinner will be included for those staying overnight.

You will also need to bring your own cup, bowl, cutlery and camping gear.

    About Jake

Jake Cassar is a passionate conservationist, youth mentor and Bushcraft teacher specializing in edible and medicinal native and introduced plants (weeds) in Australia.

Jake is well known for leading successful campaigns to create new National Parks and Nature Reserves on the Central Coast.

Jake is fast becoming known as one of Australia’s foremost authorities on edible and medicinal plants, and has been referred to as a “Bush Tucker Guru” by the Daily Telegraph and “Aussie Bear Grylls” by the Today Show. Jake has featured on Triple J radio, ABC radio, The History Channel, and National Indigenous Television (NITV).

Jake has spent most of life fine tuning his survival knowledge in what he calls “The University of the Bush” and has taught himself much of what he knows through personal experience living from the land for weeks at a time on his annual "survival missions."

Jake has worked with much respected Aboriginal elders in NSW, Central and Western Australia and has given presentations with well known people in Botany such as Les Robinson, Alan Fairley, Costa Georgiadis (Gardening Australia) and Aboriginal Bush Tucker Chef, Mark Olive.
