Reunited For Palestine: A Fundraiser for Gaza and the West Bank
Description
In the face of the ongoing, ever-expanding, illegal and inhumane occupation of Gaza, with increasing violence in the West Bank, we have decided to hold another United for Palestine fundraising event in collaboration with TPAN (Tasmanian Palestinian Action Network). Our past events have been an opportunity for local musicians, artists, activists and the wider Hobart community to raise awareness and funds that go towards supporting local and global resistance to Palestinian oppression. We hope to once again offer a space and vehicle for positive change to fight the atrocities carried out by a brutal and oppressive regime against Palestinian people and invite you all to come along and get involved.
The night will start with a documentary screening hosted by TPAN, followed by a panel discussion and brief Q&A with members of TPAN about the doco and their activist work. Then, local drag superstar Pussay Poppin’s will welcome you all and introduce the bands that we’ll dance the night away with and swing us into action! Fabulous DJ’s continue the festivities into the early hours. We will have a silent art auction featuring generous donations from Nipaluna/Hobart based artists (see our art auction poster) will be silently auctioned throughout the evening. Vegan food cooked and served by Sömething Türkişh is available early on the night to accompany the documentary screening. We also have a raffle with prizes donated by local artists and businesses (ticket sales will be available through a link on our event or available at the door). Please do not just donate generously, but also bring your warm and wonderful energy to stand in solidarity Palestine. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, there will be a sliding scale for those who can’t pay full entry. First Nations free of charge.
All proceeds from door sales, art auction, and raffle will be going to the following charities (see below) and supporting TPAN’s work locally.

DOCUMENTARY:
The Last Sky - The Last Sky is a groundbreaking new documentary about the Gazan Genocide, written and directed by Lebanese-Australian lawyer Nicholas Hanna.
The film explores the crucial context that is largely absent in the mainstream’s media coverage since October 7 and invites viewers to confront some uncomfortable truths at the heart of the Israel-Palestine conflict. It also unpacks the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and how it is inextricably linked to the question of Palestine.Read full description on their website here:
