Revealing the Truth: One-Day Prayer Retreat

If there was a 1% chance that you could meet with the God of the universe, would you go?

Here are three questions for you to ponder:

1. Does God know your situation? Absolutely

2. Is it too hard for him to handle?  Absolutely not!

3. Does God have a good plan for you? Of Course!

Then, like any relationship, it’s time to schedule the meeting with God, sit with him and ask him questions.  Any relationship is built through the asking of questions.  Why not, then, take time to ask God some specific questions?

This is the whole aim of this specific “Revealing the Truth One Day Prayer Retreat.”

This day is designed for you to:

1. Reconnect (or connect deeper) with God

2. Find out what He thinks about you.

3. Then live in that (true) reality instead of the (false) on that’s currently holding you back.

It’s time to get the authentic you back!

How does it work?

During the day, we will take time to ask God a series of questions about:

1. You

2. God

3. Your Past

4. Your Future

5. Money

6. Your Purpose

7. Your Business/Vocation

You will be given some time to ask God these questions, then come back to a small group where you will confidentially share what God spoke to you about and hear what God spoke to others about. 

Why?  Because we hear the voice of God in community.  There are times when we write down what we suspect is God but are not sure.  Then, when we hear what God spoke to others, it confirms to us that yes, what we heard is from God.  We have had groups where each one has thought that what they were hearing surely was not God, then when the group has shared, they have discovered that God spoke the same thing to others.  This helps you to know and understand that you have heard the voice of God.

What does the day look like:

8:00 am            Registration

8:30 am        Worship

9:00 am           Introduction to the day and practical instructions

9:15 am           Session 1: - Asking God about you

9:45 am           Session 2: Asking God about God

10:30 am         Morning Tea

11:00 am         Session 3: Asking God about Your Past

11:45 am         Session 4: Asking God about Your Future

12:30 pm         Lunch

1:15 pm           Session 5: Asking God about Money

2:00 pm           Session 6: Asking God about Your Purpose

2:45 pm           Afternoon Tea

3:15 pm           Session 7: Asking God about Your Business/Vocation

4:00 pm           Wrap up, Worship and Prayer

5:00 pm           Close

Who is the Retreat leader?

Wes Leake.  Wes is an experienced prayer leader and spiritual coach with years of experience in leading Listening Prayer times and helping people connect with God through regular “2 Chairs” times.  He has completed studies in Spiritual formation. Wes is married to Pam and has four children.

Depending on the number of people on the prayer retreat there will also be people assisting who are trained in helping others hear God’s voice.

The Practical Details:

Date:   Saturday 2 December, 2023

Time:  8 am to 5 pm

Location:  Room A1, Christian Heritage College, 322 Wecker Road Mansfield.  This will be our base.  You will have a chance to spread out around the grounds to hear God’s voice.

Your investment:  Early bird $77 per person by 24 November or $97 per person after that time.

RSVP: For catering purposes by 30 November at the latest.

What have others said:

While we have not run this retreat as a one day session, we have run it over a week before.  During this time many reported that they were set free from “lies” that they had believed for many years.

At the core of this is the fact that our enemy is known as the “father of lies” and he is very good at the job he does.  This day is all about exposing those lies, being set free from them and then learning to walk in truth.

This one-day retreat is part of a Summer of Spirit Growth.
