Crows Nest Revegetation Field Day
Event description
If you are a landholder and you are curious about ecological restoration, habitat corridors and land for wildlife on your property then this is the event for you! Please join the High Country Koala Action Group and Dr Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Queensland Team for a walk and talk on two Crows Nest properties, as we showcase how you can make a difference for wildlife. There will be take home resources and a demonstration by 'Bear', a working koala detection dog.
The field day will begin at 9am at the first property located at 254 Pechey Forestry Road, Pechey 4352 where you will see the beginnings of revegetation and a koala fodder farm. We will then make our way to the location of the next property, where you will see an established habitat corridor providing food and shelter to koalas and other wildlife. We will then hand it over to Bear and his handler for a demonstration of koala detection dog work.
There will be an easy to moderate level of walking involved and often on uneven ground with some obstacles. Please wear comfortable and enclosed walking shoes, suitable clothing, a hat and sunscreen and bring your own water and snacks. There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with the teams afterwards.Â
