Get started knitting the delightfully cabled and completely reversible Piccino Shawl, designed by Vera Marcu. Discover how easy it is to create beautiful reversible cables that look stunning on both sides of your scarf.

You’ll learn how to read a knitting chart, understand the symbols, and practise working cables with - or even without - a cable needle.

This session is perfect for knitters ready to expand their skills and explore textured, elegant techniques.

Cost $65 includes tuition and paid Piccino Shawl pattern from Vera Loves Knitting

This could be your chance to use that special skein from the recent yarn festival, or you can choose to buy yarn and needles in-store.

BYO

100g 4ply yarn, preferably in a solid or semi-solid colour. A slow-changing colour gradient is also suitable

3.25mm knitting needles, circular or long straights

Cable needle no thicker than your knitting needles

Your Tutor: With almost 60 years of experience, Josephine has extensive knowledge of knitting. She teaches knitting to others and regularly adds new techniques, patterns, and methods to her skill set.

While our street address is on Main Rd, our shop is actually located at the rear of Tanja's Cafe, on the corner of Oceanic St and Main Rd.

Refund policy

General Cancellation and No-Show Policies for Village Creative Studio Co-op. Below are the terms and conditions for workshop participation: • Gift vouchers are available and may be used for workshop bookings. • Credits from cancelled or postponed workshops may be applied toward booking a new workshop. • Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of full payment. • A minimum of two participants is required for a class to proceed. • Classes may be cancelled or postponed; in such cases, participants will receive a refund or credit applicable to another workshop within 12 months. The refund or credit will 95% of the original workshop price (due to administrative fees). • If a participant cannot attend a workshop after booking and payment, or does not attend, no refunds or credits can be issued, as preparation have been completed, and places may have been reserved for others. All purchases are final. • Workshop bookings are transferable; if you cannot attend, you may nominate someone else to take your place. KEY FOCUS AREAS

· ARTISAN HANDMADE SHOP – A curated retail space showcasing and selling locally made, high-quality handcrafted works.

· ART AND CRAFT SUPPLY SHOP – Affordable new and de-stashed craft supplies, fabrics, yarns, tools, and equipment.

· CREATIVE WORKSPACE – A dedicated space for workshops and creative circles, supporting both skill-building and social connection. Creative circles are peer-led and promote wellbeing through craft and community.

· WORKSHOPS – Led by local artisan facilitators, these hands-on classes help participants learn new techniques and gain confidence in their craft.

· COMMUNITY OUTREACH – We bring creativity into the community through events like craft days, exhibitions, retreats, and visits to local facilities such as retirement villages.

· VOLUNTEERING – Volunteers are the heart of our co-op. They enhance our operations, contribute ideas, host events, and promote our mission in the wider community.
