Revitalise
Event description
Revitalise will be an inspiring event to explore how we can work together to regenerate communities, places and the environment. We know that the time is now and we need to take action at all levels - from government to businesses to the community level.
One of the underlying themes of Revitalise is helping people to move beyond their roles as passive or enlightened consumers towards being active contributors to positive change in their street, neighbourhood or world. We should be encouraging people to create more positive, regenerative impact on the world, rather than just thinking about how they can minimise their impact as consumers on their environment, as important as that is.
“We can perhaps best ramp people onto a broader environmental agenda through engaging them in and challenging them to take responsibility for and shape these public realms beyond their homes. Only by helping people connect to, care for and shape the world beyond their front doors will we be able to instill people with a capacity to redress the larger environmental crises.” Ethan Kent
Featuring expert insights, co-design opportunities and some compelling calls to action, Revitalise is the opportunity to meet with like-minded practitioners in the placemaking and community sustainability space.
Speakers include: Ethan Kent from PlacemakingX - the global custodian of the placemaking movement, Ursula Crowley Hogben, Chair of Zero Emissions Sydney North Inc, Jo Taranto from Good for the Hood, Marcus Westbury from Renew Newcastle/Australia and Dean Cracknell from Town Team Movement.
Three 'walkshops' will help us to discover what is happening in Burwood and provide examples of ideas to revitalise places.
Tickets cost $350 ex GST / $385 including GST, per person.
If you would prefer to pay via tax invoice, please email your request to hello@townteammovement.com and we will action this for you.
