PRESENTING:

Sydney Actors School First Year Actors present Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. directed by Jules Billington. An experimental political play written by British playwright Alice Birch in 2014. Presented by the first year acting ensemble of 2026 and directed by Jules Billington. This political and unsettling play was written in response to the quote from historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich "Well-behaved women seldom make history”, Birch wrote the play in three days.

It unpacks what it means to be a woman in the 21st century, attacking political and social expectations and paradigms surrounding women including motherhood, family, sexuality, love, marriage, body image and work.

This play contains themes relating to sexual assault, verbal and physical violence, allusions to suicide, partial nudity, graphic sexual and explicit language and mature content.
