Rewilding Stonnington Pub Night
Event description
Join us for a Wild Time!
Join Higgins CAN supporters in the pub, over a drink and dinner
At 7.30 Alison Richards will tell us about the impressive environment initiatives in Stonnington and Higgins, by Rewilding Stonnington, followed by questions. See below for more details.
At 8.30, the HigginsCAN committee will call for your ideas and suggestions for renewed campaigning on effective climate action! We need your input! More details below
Alison Richards of Rewilding Stonnington will speak after dinner.
Hear, for example, how we can:
- add interest and diversity to the landscape
- boost biodiversity
- attract pollinators
- reduce the urban heat island effect
- learn about First Nations’ ways of caring for country, with local Traditional Owners
- reduce stormwater runoff
- reduce the need for artificial fertilisers and weed-killers
- reduce noise pollution from lawn mowers
- improve mental and physical health
- build community
Join us to brainstorm our new campaign
Together we can remind our MPs that action on climate change is important to the communities they represent. And remind our friends and neighbours that only public pressure can prevent the expansion of new coal and gas.
Bring along your ideas and your passion to take on this task.
When: Thursday 31st August
At: 6:30 pm sharp for dinner OR 7:30 pm for presentation only
