Reworlding City North
Event description
How Do We Live Well Together?
In 2050, the many challenges of climate change have caused social and environmental collapse. Players must work together to create their new world. Those who can gather to represent their communities in this game of innovation and negotiation. All you have is a pocket full of hope and the people around you. You will meet characters that challenge your values, your attitudes and threaten your reserves of hope.
Times past, present and future exist in layers of meaning and place. The place we called Cardigan Street is transformed to represent another version of this land in 25 years. It is layered with traditional language, memories of today, and polycrisis of the future. Can we use this experience to regenerate ways of living well together? Who will YOU be in 2050? Who will WE be?
Together you must face climate disasters, create solutions, discuss strategies and take action to create a reimagined neighbourhood that supports a community for your group.
Choices
Register early and create your character ready for play. Choose your faction: Bearbrass representing people society and knowledge or Symbios who are already post-human in their relationship to culture, experience and environment.
Alternatively, register later and take one of our premade characters.
Costumes, whether Hopepunk, Solarpunk or from your imagination, are more than welcome. You are invited to join our Discord to discuss your ideas.
The live action experience welcomes thoughtful players who are ready to build a way of life past climate anxiety through to living together even in a climate emergency.
It will interest players over 16 years old who want to engage with climate change and the future of Melbourne in an entertaining and though provoking way.
