Event description

Little needs to be said about the iconic RICHARD CLAPTON, a tribal elder of Australian rock. He pumped the new idea that Australians want to hear Australian stories in song. leading the way for legends like Skyhooks, Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, and hundreds of others, to join him in celebrating Australian stories in song.

His musical career spans over 40 years and is one of our finest songwriters. His iconic songs – ‘Girls On The Avenue’, ‘Deep Water’, ‘Capricorn Dancer’, ‘I Am An Island’, ‘The Best Years of Our Lives’, ‘Lucky Country’, ‘Glory Road’ – have provided the soundtrack to endless Australian summers.

Little wonder that he is in the Aria Hall of Fame.
