From Frankston to the Cities: Five Decades of Painting by Rick Amor
Saturday 21 November 2026
Opening from 2pm
Join us at McClelland for the opening of this major exhibition celebrating more than 50 years of work by one of Australia’s most acclaimed living painters, Rick Amor.
Spanning five decades, From Frankston to the Cities brings together a remarkable painting from every year of Amor’s career, offering a rare opportunity to experience the evolution of his practice in one extraordinary exhibition.
With a deep connection to Frankston and the surrounding landscape, Amor’s work has travelled far beyond the Peninsula while remaining grounded in the place where his artistic journey began. As Rick himself has often said, “it all starts with Frankston.”
We are delighted to welcome Jane Clark, Senior Research Curator at MONA, who will officially open the exhibition.
2pm – Official opening, doors open at 1:45
Come along, explore the exhibition and celebrate the remarkable career of Rick Amor with us.
We’d love to see you there.
