Event description

Join us at SoulCycle's West Village Studio for a full-body indoor cycling workout in support of The Trevor Project this World Suicide Prevention Day!

On Saturday September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day, come ride with Melanie Griffith - Master Instructor & Senior Director of Brand Experience at SoulCycle - as we look to raise money and awareness for The Trevor Project.

Doors Open: 12:30p

Class Starts: 1:00p

Class Ends: 2:00p

The ride will start promptly at 1pm, so aim to be there 10-15 mins early. If this is your first time at SoulCycle, we recommend you arrive on the earlier side so we can help get you set up and ready to go with ease, so feel free to arrive any time after 12:30p.

Each ticket includes a bike, shoe rental, towel & a Boxed Water! In order to make this ride as accessible as possible to everyone, we have kept the ticket cost lower than traditional charity rides in the hope that everyone who wants to can join! As you buy your ticket, we would love if you can make a direct donation of whatever you can afford, in order to maximize our impact to The Trevor Project. When you checkout, and at the Studio, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct donation to support LGBTQ+ youth in crisis - every dollar matters, so please donate what you can.

If you're unable to make the ride, but would love to donate to the cause, you can still do so! Click 'Get Tickets' like you would to buy one and enter a donation without selecting a ticket. This will allow you to make a direct donation in the event's name!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Angus McKenzie (angus.j.mckenzie@ey.com). We look forward to seeing you there!

What is World Suicide Prevention Day?

One in every 100 deaths worldwide is the result of suicide. It can affect every one of us. Each and every suicide is devastating and has a profound impact on those around them. However, by raising awareness, reducing the stigma around suicide and encouraging well-informed action, we can reduce instances of suicide around the world. World Suicide Prevention Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide and to promote action through proven means that will reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally.

Why are we raising awareness and money for The Trevor Project today?

Mental health & suicide can impact everyone, regardless of who you are and who you love. And while we would love to share the light on all the great causes, we love having the opportunity to highlight the amazing and critical work The Trevor Project does in the fight to reduce suicide! Here's how their work has impact:

 ● The Trevor Project’s research has found that having at least one accepting adult in an LGBTQ young person’s life reduces their risk of suicide by 40%.
● Transgender and nonbinary youth who reported having pronouns respected by all of the people they lived with attempted suicide at half the rate of those who did not have their pronouns respected by anyone with whom they lived.
● According to Trevor’s research 42% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, including more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth
