Rio Samba Bateria Workshop with Rob Arcari

This workshop will focus on the style of samba being played currently in Rio’s Samba Schools. Looking to improve technique and feel as well as learning some new bossas fresh out of Rio.Come and pick Rob's brains about all things samba as he gets into the nitty gritty of what's happening in Rio Samba today.
Open to all the instruments of the bateria – surdo, repique, caixa, tamborim, chocalho, agogô, timbal etc… Please note – instruments not provided.

Mestre Rob has been spearheading the Melbourne Samba scene for the last 10 years. He’s mestre de bateria of Bloco 3K (Melbourne) and Unidos da Cacatua (Aus/NZ).
For the past 7 years he’s been making an annual pilgrimage to Rio where he parades playing with numerous baterias. A regular ritmista with Imperatriz Leopoldinense and Acadêmicos da Rocinha he’s also paraded with Paraiso da Tuiuti, Império da Tijuca & Estacio de Sá, amongst other schools.
