Event description

Leading and Thriving Through Change is about understanding the neuroscience and emotional dynamics at play during times of uncertainty and change and taking our control back! By recognising the effects of both positive and negative emotions, we can choose the right pathways to shift individual thinking and behaviors. Positive emotions power our brains, but during periods of unplanned or unprecedented change, negative emotions can impair our ability to reason and respond effectively. We can feel stuck and resentful and this will limit our energy and motivation, and the ripple effect within the culture of our teams is then sub-optimal.

In this engaging and interactive session, facilitated by FPA’s Lead Chair and Positive Psychology Practitioner, Leanne Warner, leaders will explore how we got to this point, why we feel stuck, and how to shift our thinking, feelings, and actions to regain momentum and navigate change effectively. Beyond focusing solely on the problems, we will explore practical strategies to help you reclaim your mojo and lead effectively by harnessing your emotional perception and regulation.

Practical tools to take away include:

  • An understanding of basic neuroscience and how the brain responds to the ‘threat’ of change

  • The importance of habits and routines in making new work patterns stick

  • The ability to identify and label your emotions, understand emotional triggers that diminish motivation, and focus on strategies to change your response when necessary

  • Applying an ‘appreciative’ lens to problem-solving, enabling you to design and deliver more manageable milestones under pressure or when change feels overwhelming

  • Setting commitments to make changes in thinking, feeling, and behaviour to shift the narrative for yourself and your team

A session not to be missed, offering invaluable insights and practical tools to help you navigate change with confidence, build resilience, and lead your team through uncertainty with renewed focus and energy.

Following the keynote, you’ll also have the opportunity to connect and network with like-minded leaders over lunch.

We look forward to seeing you there!
