RISING - Special Melbourne Screening

RISING - Voices of Protest and Hope is a feature documentary directed and produced by award-winning Melbourne filmmaker Esther Takac, capturing what many see as a defining struggle for the soul and future of Israel.

Told through intimate personal stories and rare footage from the ground, RISING follows ordinary Israelis who turn personal pain into collective action, stepping forward to defend democracy and the fundamental values of their society.

Following sold-out screenings at the Tel Aviv Museum, Jerusalem and Haifa Cinematheques, RISING has drawn heartfelt responses from Israeli press and audiences:

First shown as a work-in-progress at JIFF last year, RISING has since evolved significantly. This special screening is your opportunity to see the completed film now sparking powerful conversations across Israel.

Following the film, a panel discussion will explore the urgent questions the film raises about Israeli society and its future.

The panel will feature Jeremy Liebler, ZFA President; Yossi Goldfarb, Former ZV President; Nirit Eylon, Hatikvah President; and Esther Takac, award-winning filmmaker.
