Lyra Pramuk (US/DE) fuses classical vocalism, pop sensibilities, performance practices and contemporary club culture in what can best be described as futurist folk music. Composed and arranged entirely from the sound of her own voice, Fountain, her debut on Bedroom Community, was hailed as ‘a potent religious text in praise of human vocality’s promise’ (The Quietus).

Fabulous Diamonds are the long-running (nearly two decades) duo of Nisa Venerosa (voice, percussion) & Jarrod Zlatic (keyboard, digital arrangements). Uneasy and understated chamber songs for the neo-feudal age. While in the past their music has drawn from a wellspring of dubby post-punk and bubblegum-minimalism (with album releases on Siltbreeze, Alter, and Chapter Music) their current approach takes its cues from twentieth century art song and contemporary sound design; tenor vocals and choralesque keyboards play atop sparse, muffled rhythms and ambiguous soundscapes.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung as the Traditional Owners and sovereign custodians of the Country on which we practice. We extend our respects to their Elders past and present, and to all First Peoples.

This concert is presented as part of Liquid Architecture's Ritual Community Music concert series, in partnership with Abbotsford Convent. We thank the Victorian Government and City of Yarra for support through the On the Road Program.
