The River City Jazz Orchestra is Brisbane’s newest large jazz ensemble co-led by Joel Sanchez-Carn and Max Irvin. Featuring 19 of Brisbane’s most promising emerging musicians, this orchestra pushes the boundaries of contemporary large-ensemble repertoire, with a focus on cutting-edge, provocative, and innovative material. RCJO champions original works from Brisbane-based composers, presenting a compelling mix of emerging and established voices in the ‘concert jazz’ space.
