River Runabout
Event description
Come join us for our monthly event designed for children with their supervising adults.
This month Bendigo Family Nature Club is taking a trip out to the Campaspe to learn, explore and play.
We're lucky to be starting with a welcome to country by Traditional Owner group, Dja Dja Wurrung. Following this there will be activities facilitated by Nicole Howie from North Central Catchment Management Authority's River Detectives program. We'll get to know more about the river, learn how to assess river health and meet some waterbugs.
Adults please note that this event will be right on the edge of the river and children in your care will need to be supervised at all times.
The exact meeting location will be included in your tickets.
Things to keep in mind...
There are no toilets - closest public toilets are in Goornong.
It may be hot and there could be snakes around so bring water, wear suitable shoes and leave your pets at home. And, don't forget your hats and sunscreen.
If you've never been to one of our gatherings before, they are for children with their responsible adult.
When you book, to help us with numbers, please book a separate spot for everyone in your group.
This event is made possible by Parks Victoria, Bendigo Sustainability Group and Bendigo Field Naturalists.
