Event description

This concert will feature four of our Birralee choirs, Brisbane Birralee Voices, Birralee Blokes, Birralee Singers and it will be the culmination of the Birralee Recycled season for 2022. This year a focus of our Birralee Recycled season is the positive benefit of singing together to improve mental health.

Our river, Maiwar, glides through our city and it is vital to our identity. It provides tranquillity and repose when we sit on its banks and energy and movement when we are upon it. We use it for celebration, for work, for relaxation. It is a source of life. Singing together in community is very similar. It brings us together for relaxation and to unwind. It energises and invigorates and we use it to tell our stories, celebrate and commemorate. In singing together there is no discrimination – we are all one together and positive energy flows. Together we are healed and made joyous.

Come and mark Qld Mental Health Week by celebrating the power of singing in community.
